In this July 2023 Tata car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Tata Motors for the last month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Tata cars’ sales improved and which ones declined. Lastly, the table with monthly sales for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend of all Tata cars.

July 2023 - Tata Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

Over half the cars in Tata’s portfolio reported a decline in sales numbers in July of 2023 compared to that of July of 2022.
Speaking of losers, Tata Tigor and Harrier topped the chart with a 50.60% and 35.71% decline in YoY comparison analysis for July 2023. It was followed by Nexon B2-SUV with a 13.12% drop in sales numbers.
The other loser was the Safari, which reported a decline of 4.20%.
The Tiago was the top gainer, with about 45.84% YoY growth, which was followed by the Altroz with a 37.67% growth and Punch with a 9.19% YoY rise.
The Nexon is the big volume car in Tata Motors’ portfolio, and now the Punch is in the same league as Nexon, both with just above 12,000 units sold in July 2023.
The Nexon and Punch are the only 2 cars in Tata’s portfolio with a 5-figure monthly sales figure.

July 2023 - Tata Car Sales Figures - MoM Change

In terms of MoM change, Nexon and Tigor were the only cars which reported a drop in sales in July compared to June.
Sales of Tigor dropped by 19.52%, whereas Nexon dispatches saw a decline of 10.69% in July MoM comparison.
The Tiago hatchback reported an impressive growth of 10.41% and was the top MoM gainer in July MoM comparison analysis.
The Tiago was followed by Punch whose sales grew by 9.36%.
The other cars and their MoM gains are:
- Altroz (7.82%)
- Harrier (2.55%)
- Safari (1.44%)
