The upcoming Kia Carnival was spied testing recently, confirming that India will get the facelift that was unveiled in October 2023. Check out how it differs from the Kia KA4 from Auto Expo 2023 here.

Kia showcased the new generation Carnival MPV as the KA4 concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. Later, Kia launched the Carnival facelift in various global markets in October 2023. Meanwhile, the carmaker continued to sell the third-generation Carnival in India until it was discontinued without notice. The Carnival facelift in these spy shots features Kia’s latest design language and confirms that India will get the updated MPV rather than the one showcased at the Auto Expo.

The new Carnival facelift gets an SUV-ish design thanks to an upright nose. Notable design elements up front include the wide grille, L-shaped LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), and a brushed silver aluminium skid plate. The front bumper also houses LED fog lamps and ADAS radar sensors.
In its home market South Korea, the new Kia Carnival facelift is offered with the option of 4-, 7- and 9-seater configurations. There are 3 interior themes on offer – taupe, navy grey and beige – too. The updated Carnival offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a full-digital instrument cluster, and other features such as multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, air purifier and ambient lighting. Rear seat passengers get the option of a 14.6-inch Full HD dual screen mounted on the front seat headrests. These screens are part of Kia’s smart rear seat entertainment system and lets users stream content from OTT platforms.
As far as safety features are concerned, the new Kia Carnival facelift offers ADAS, 8 airbags, digital inside rearview mirror and safe exit assist for the rear doors.

In South Korea, the Kia Carnival facelift is offered with 3 engine options – a 3.5-litre normal petrol, a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel. The previous generation Kia Carnival sold in India was offered with the 2.2-litre diesel engine until the MPV was discontinued. We expect Kia India to offer the new model with the same engine option this time around too. In the now-discontinued Carnival, the 2.2-litre diesel engine produced 200PS of power and 440Nm of torque.
The new Kia Carnival facelift is expected to go on sale in India in 2014. When launched, the D2-segment MPV will have no direct rivals in the country. The new Toyota Innova Hycross is the closest competitor to the new Kia Carnival. Since the new Kia Carnival sports an SUV-esque design, it could also serve as an alternative to the D2-segment 3-row SUVs such as the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
