Korean auto maker Kia Motors is going big in the global auto market with its new aggressive product launch strategy. Kia has already launched the 5-door hatchback and the estate versions of its popular moniker - Ceed. The carmaker has also removed the apostrophe from Ceed brand name and made it neat. Kia is said to be now focusing on launching the sportier versions of the new Ceed. A shooting brake version of the Kia Ceed is likely to hit the global market by the end of this year, which is expected to be followed by a crossover model variant sometime in 2019.
These two new body-types of the Kia Ceed will be placed in the car lineup’s gap which has been left behind by the 3-door variant. Kia had already displayed the concept version - the gorgeous Proceed shooting brake at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. As a concept car, the Kia Proceed had showcased a futuristic styling that the Korean automaker will adopt for its new generation cars along with a number of innovations and future technology that Kia is busy working on. Some of these futuristic features include the glowing window trim, which outlines the car’s whole window, a range of fragrances that will be offered as per the user's liking, and B-pillars less windows and a shark fin-style styling element to highlight this featue.
When the upcoming Kia Ceed based crossover model is concerned, as per the speculations, the new crossover model’s design language will be based on the ongoing current station wagon version. However, the crossover model will come with a taller stance and come with raised ground clearance. This new crossover model based on the Ceed should be placed by the company in the gap in its lineup that exists between Stonic and the Sportage. Moreover, the new generation model of the Kia Sportage which is thought to be hitting the market sometime by 2022 will be also growing in dimensions. This should be allowing Kia enough space to rightly position the Ceed based upcoming crossover in the lineup without having a clash with the Sportage. This new crossover is expected to be an aggressive model that will give a good fight to the rival SUV/crossover models in its own class.
When the car market of India is concerned, Kia has already confirmed that the company is developing products that are specifically designed for the Indian market, and these will be launched in India in scheduled timelines. For instance, Kia showcased the SP Concept SUV in India at the 2018 Auto Expo, which is likely to bring forth a sub-4 meter compact SUV model in India. The subcompact SUV is a new segment for Kia, but for India this is what is thought to be the first Kia product. Apart from SUVs, Kia is also studying sedans for India, as there is good demand for them. The South Korean car maker has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government of Andhra Pradesh to set up its production facility in Anantapur.
