Kia India have released a fresh teaser that strongly points to the upcoming Sorento Hybrid. The image appears to reference Sorrento, Italy, with visual elements resembling those around Piazza Tasso. The similarity between the names Sorrento and Sorento appears to be the main clue behind the campaign.

V3Cars understands Kia are likely to launch the Sorento Hybrid in August 2026. Deliveries could begin in late September or early October. Kia have not announced the launch date, booking details or delivery schedule. So, the timeline could still change before a formal announcement.
Kia’s social media caption asks viewers to use Google Lens or an AI assistant to identify the landmark. The accompanying image shows a stylised European streetscape that appears to reference Sorrento, Italy. The Sorrento location creates a clear wordplay around the Kia Sorento name.

The latest clue also follows Kia’s previous teaser announcing an upcoming battery electric vehicle (BEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) for India.
Kia have since launched the Syros EV, which was the BEV hinted at in the earlier teaser. This leaves the Sorento Hybrid as the most likely HEV Kia are preparing to introduce.
V3Cars understands Kia could launch the Sorento Hybrid in August 2026. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in late September or early October.
The manufacturer has not announced the launch date, booking details or delivery schedule yet. Hence, the timeline could still change before Kia make a formal announcement.
The Sorento Hybrid was also spotted testing in India earlier in 2026. The test car featured heavy camouflage but appeared to retain the overall design and proportions of the international model.
Kia have not revealed the India-spec Sorento Hybrid’s dimensions, powertrain or feature list. However, the 2026 Australian-spec Sorento Hybrid gives us a reasonable indication of what the India-bound SUV could offer.
The following table lists the key specifications of the Australian Sorento Hybrid:
The Sorento’s 4815mm length, 2815mm wheelbase and 7-seat layout support its position above the Seltos and below the Carnival. Its 230PS and 350Nm hybrid system should also provide the performance expected from an SUV priced at around Rs. 45 lakh like the
Higher variants of the Australian Sorento offer features such as:
Kia could offer many of these features with the India-spec Sorento Hybrid. However, its variant-wise equipment and powertrain specifications could differ from the Australian model.
We expect Kia to price the Sorento Hybrid at around Rs. 45 lakh (ex-showroom). The final price will depend on whether Kia import the SUV as a completely built unit, assemble it locally or achieve a higher level of localisation.
The Sorento Hybrid’s closest rivals will include the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron. Like the Sorento, they are premium monocoque SUVs offering 3-row seating.

The Sorento could also serve as a petrol-hybrid alternative to ladder-frame SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner and MG Majestor. However, the Fortuner and Majestor place a greater emphasis on ruggedness and off-road capability.
Taken together, the Sorrento clue, the earlier BEV-HEV teaser and the Syros EV launch make the Sorento Hybrid the most likely subject of Kia’s latest campaign.
