Leaked Document Suggests Affordable Alcazar Executive Variants In Pipeline | V3Cars
A few leaked documents for Alcazar variants certification are suggesting that Hyundai are working towards bringing more affordable variants of the Alcazar. The Prestige Executive variants could make the 3-row SUV affordable enough for a Kia Carens buyer to consider the Alcazar for its SUV style.
Currently, the Alcazar starts at Rs. 16.44 lakh for the 2.0L petrol variants and the prices go up to Rs. 20.25 lakh for the Signature (O) variant with a diesel-automatic powertrain. The leaked document suggests that the Alcazar will get the Prestige Executive 7-seater variant with the 2.0L petrol-manual, 1.5L diesel-manual and 1.5L diesel automatic. The diesel-manual powertrain will also get the 6-seat version in the Prestige Executive variant.
While the Hyundai Alcazar has a fairly high starting price, the good thing with that is that even the most affordable variant is fairly well loaded. So, you can expect a good ownership experience from even the base model. It’s unclear what all features Hyundai will remove from the Prestige’s feature list.

The most notable features of the Alcazar’s base Prestige variant are:
- 2 front airbags
- ABS
- Rear disc brakes
- Rear defogger
- Rear washer and wiper
- Rear parking camera
- Hill-start assist
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- LED headlamps
- LED DRLs
- LED tail lamps
- LED cabin lights
- LED fog lamps
- LED ambient lights
- 17-inch alloy wheels
- Panoramic sunroof
- Front and rear centre armrests
- Sunglass holder
- 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay
- Steering-mounted controls
- Cruise control
- 60-40 split middle row seats (with the 7-seat layout)
- 50-50 split last row seats
- Auto AC
- Keyless entry with push-button start/stop
- Tilt and telescopic steering
- Rear window sunshades
- 2nd and 3rd row AC vents
- Front row wireless phone charger
- USB socket in all rows
- Sliding and reclining middle row seats

If Hyundai remove a few features from this list, then we can expect the Alcazar’s Prestige Executive variant to cost under Rs. 16.0 lakh. However, if they also go after big-ticket items like panoramic sunroof and offer 1-size smaller alloys, then, we can see the Prestige Executive to even break the 15.0 lakh barrier on the downside.
Currently, a reasonably-loaded variant of the Kia Carens costs around Rs. 14.0 lakh (ex-showroom) while a well-loaded variant costs about Rs. 15.50 lakh. We can expect Hyundai to ask for some premium over the Carens as it has the SUV styling while the Carens has a MPV vibe to it.
