South Korean automaker Hyundai is preparing to launch the Creta facelift in the Indian market. The upcoming SUV has already been spied testing in the country several times and now again the 2018 Creta has been spotted. The leaked image of the new Hyundai Creta show the SUV without any camouflage and is likely to be launched next month in the country. This is the first time that the SUV has been spotted without any camouflage. The leaked image of the production version of the SUV is however not all that clear but it definitely shows certain cosmetic changes indicate that this is the facelifted Creta. The image is said to be taken during an ad commercial shoot indicating towards the launch in near future and shows a lot of cosmetic changes to be offered with the upcoming Creta facelift.
Under the hood, the 2018 Hyundai Creta is expected to offer the existing pair of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines, along with the smaller 1.4-litre diesel engine while the transmission duties will be taken care of by the same 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, along with a 6-speed automatic with both the petrol and diesel engines. In terms of output, while the 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine generates 123 bhp of power and 151 Nm of torque, the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine options are capable of producing 89 bhp and 126 bhp of maximum power respectively.
In terms of looks, the updated Hyundai Creta is likely to offer a new hexagonal grille with a chrome frame, a fresh set of sweptback headlamps featuring projector lamps and LED DRLs, redesigned front bumpers and chrome inserts around the air dam, fog lamps with separate housing positioned beside the air dam, a dual-tone exterior combination with a black roof, body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn signals and new dual-tone alloy wheels. However, the biggest highlight to be offered this time with the SUV will be the optional sunroof. Also, the Creta facelift will continue to come with the plastic cladding for the wheel arch and underbody. Though the rear of the SUV is not visible in the image but it is likely to sport redesigned taillamps, rear bumper and tailgate as well as sped earlier.
Talking about the interior of the 2018 Creta, like the major updates to be seen at the exterior, the cabin is also expected to come with some considerable amount of changes, possible an updated dashboard, new touchscreen infotainment system, improved safety and convenience features and many more.
However, there are no updates regarding the official launch date of the 2018 Creta, but according to the speculations in the market, the facelifted Hyundai Creta will be launched in May this year and the official advanced bookings are likely to commence by the end of this month at all the authorized Hyundai dealerships in the country. When launched, the SUV will rival the upcoming Kia SP, MG SUV, Tata H5X, Skoda Vision X and VW T-Cross.
