Fans of the Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero looking for a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels can finally rejoice! Mahindra have just confirmed the Bolero EV and Scorpio EV for the Indian market and the all-electric SUVs will continue to be based on a ladder-frame chassis. Read on to know more.

Mahindra Scorpio EV And Bolero EV Specifications

Mahindra recently took the wraps off of the Thar.e electric SUV and Scorpio-N-based Global Pik Up concept truck at an event held on August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa. At the event, Mahindra also confirmed their plans of electrifying their entire ICE-range of SUVs, including the Scorpio-N and the best-selling Bolero. The carmaker also revealed that the electric versions of their ICE cars will wear the ‘.e’ moniker. Hence, we can expect Mahindra to launch the Scorpio.e and Bolero.e real soon. Let’s take a look at the electric Scorpio and Bolero’s probable specifications.

Both the Scorio.e and Bolero.e are likely to retain their rear-wheel-drive setup by incorporating a rear-mounted electric motor sourced from Volkswagen. The Scorpio.e could further incorporate a front-mounted electric motor to offer all-wheel-drive capabilities. The two electric SUVs are likely to be based on the INGLO platform that will form the basis of the production-spec version of the Thar.e. Other details about the Scorpio.e and Bolero.e, such as its range, features and launch timeline, are yet to be revealed.

However, Mahindra have revealed their future roadmap for the Indian market. Mahindra will debut the new INGLO platform with the XUV.e range of SUVs. The first model to spawn out of this platform will be the XUV.e8, which is an electric derivative of the XUV700. The XUV.e8 is set to make its debut in December 2024 It was spotted on test multiple times in the past and it is likely to retain the same silhouette and 7-seater configuration as the XUV700.
