Mahindra have officially teased the production-spec version of their upcoming lifestyle pickup truck ahead of its global debut on August 14. Based on the Global Pik Up concept showcased in South Africa in 2023, the upcoming pickup is expected to share its platform and several mechanical components with the Scorpio-N SUV.

The new pickup will be positioned as a lifestyle-oriented model for both Indian and international markets. Here’s what the latest teaser images reveal.

The production-spec pickup retains several design cues from the Scorpio-N, but gets a longer body and a dedicated cargo bed at the rear. The front features a wide grille with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo, along with new LED headlamps and slim LED DRLs.
The Scorpio N gets gets a double-cab layout, pronounced wheel arches, roof rails and large alloy wheels. The pickup is expected to have a longer wheelbase than the Scorpio-N, which measures 2750mm between its axles.
At the rear, the pickup gets C-shaped LED tail lamps and a tailgate with ‘MAHINDRA’ lettering.

The teaser also gives us a glimpse of the cabin, which appears substantially different from that of the Scorpio-N. The pickup gets a redesigned dashboard with a large, vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system flanked by vertically oriented air vents.
The cabin also features a digital instrument cluster and a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo. The centre console gets a conventional gear selector, rotary controller and physical buttons for various functions.
The pickup could also borrow several features from the updated Scorpio-N, including advanced driver assistance systems and a 540-degree surround-view camera.

Mahindra are yet to reveal the technical specifications of the production-spec Scorpio-N pickup. However, it is expected to share its powertrain options with the Scorpio-N SUV. Hence, it is likely to be offered with a 2L turbo petrol engine and 2.2: diesel engine option. Both engines could be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. Like the standard Scorpio-N, the pickup is expected to offer a 4-wheel-drive system in its top variants.
More details about the powertrain, dimensions, features and pricing are expected to be revealed at its August 14 debut.

The upcoming Mahindra lifestyle pickup will primarily rival the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross in India. Its combination of a double-cab body, 4-wheel drive and a relatively mainstream positioning could give Mahindra a strong entry into the lifestyle pickup segment.
