Maruti Suzuki Ignis Adult Occupant Safety

Maruti Suzuki Ignis scored a 1-star rating in adult occupant safety, securing 16.48 points out of 34 points. It offered good protection to the driver and front co-passenger’s head and neck. However, the protection offered to the driver’s chest was weak and adequate for the front co-passenger. The latest crash test found that the driver’s knees and co-passenger’s right knee are prone to receive impact from dangerous structures in a crash. In the side impact test, the Ignis offered weak and poor protection to the driver's head and chest, respectively.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Child Occupant Safety

The Ignis scored a 0-star rating in child occupant safety, scoring 3.86 points out of 49 points. The latest crash test found that the Ignis was capable of preventing head exposure in the frontal impact of a 3-year-old sitting on a child seat. For the 18-month child seat test, the Ignis offered good protection and prevented the test dummy from head exposure.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Safety Features

The Ignis that was tested by GNCAP featured dual airbags, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), seatbelt reminders, rear parking sensors and seatbelt pretensioner with load limiter for the driver and front co-passenger.
