As you can see in the table above, the petrol AMT variants of Maruti Suzuki cars now command a premium of Rs. 55,000 over their manual-equipped variants. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki used to charge a premium of Rs. 50,000 for the automated manual transmission. It is worth mentioning that the price hike of Rs. 5,000 is only true for AMT-equipped cars and not other models equipped with torque converter automatic transmission.
In contrast to their AMT-equipped cars, Maruti Suzuki recently reduced the prices of their CNG hatchbacks by Rs. 5,000. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki used to charge a premium of Rs. 95,000 for the CNG powertrain over the corresponding normal petrol variants. Now, Maruti Suzuki charge Rs. 90,000 for the CNG hatchbacks over their petrol variants. It is worth mentioning that the reduced prices are only applicable on CNG-equipped hatchbacks (Baleno, Wagon R, etc.) and not SUVs (Grand Vitara) and MPVs (Ertiga).
