We expect Maruti Suzuki to launch other CNG offerings of other models, such as the Baleno CNG, Brezza CNG and Ignis CNG, soon. The CNG version of the Baleno’s sibling, the Toyota Glanza, has already been homologated and it produces identical power and torque figures as the Swift CNG and Dzire CNG. Hence, we expect the upcoming Baleno CNG and Ignis CNG to make use of the Swift’s 1.2L petrol CNG powertrain.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG, on the other hand, could make use of the Ertiga’s 1.5L petrol CNG powertrain. The Ertiga CNG produces 88PS of power at 5500rpm and 122Nm of torque at 4200rpm. It is worth mentioning that while Maruti Suzuki offer over 10 CNG models, not a single one offers the option of an automatic transmission. Furthermore, no carmaker offer a CNG model with an automatic transmission option currently.
