In this May 2022 MG cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of MG for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which MG cars sales are improving and which ones are declining.
May 2022 - MG Car Sales Figures - YoY Change
- Only Gloster reported a decline in sales compared to May 2021, which is surprising considering sales were already very low in May 2021 due to COVID-19 lockdowns
- The ZS EV’s sales improved 260% YoY in May 2022

May 2022 - MG Car Sales Figures - MoM Change
- MoM also, only Gloster reported a decline of 38.55%; it’s likely due to the Jeep Meridian, which has overlapping tags with the Gloster
- The Astor saw a huge growth of 712% and was the biggest MoM winner for MG India
- It was shocking to see the Astor posting such low numbers in April MoM as the car’s base as well as top variants are solid value offerings
- Astor managed to post 4-figure sales in May, which is what we expected in April MoM analysis
