The updated A-Class 220d will arrive in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2023, soon after the launch of the next-gen GLC SUV. Mercedes have not mentioned the reason behind the delayed launch of the diesel A-Class. The delay in the launch of the A-Class diesel A220d could be that it’s diesel engine is yet to be updated for our new emission regulations that came into effect in April this year. The previous version of the A-Class A220d was powered by a 2.0L turbo diesel engine, which also powered other Mercedes-Benz offerings like the GLA, C-Class and E-Class.
