It is a well known fact for some time that Mercedes-Benz has been busy working on the next generation A-Class sedan. Most of the details about the new generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan have been also revealed. Mercedes has also offered a proper look at the all new A-Class sedan in its longer wheelbase avatar at the 2018 Beijing Motor show, earlier this year. However, although the German luxury auto major has been developing the A-Class sedan for quite some time, and there have been tons of spy pictures on the internet too, a proper idea about the sedan’s exterior design could never be formed. Nevertheless, recently the all new A-Class sedan’s test prototype model was caught by the spy cameras while it was testing the roads without caring to wear most of its camouflage. Thus, these recent spy pictures offer a great look at the next generation sedan.
When it comes to the exterior design changes of the new generation A-Class sedan, the Stuttgart based luxury auto giant’s entry-level product looks very similar to that of its Long Wheelbase (LWB) version. A lot of the design elements have been carried forward for the sedan model for the US as well as the European car markets. As seen in the latest set of spy pictures, the next generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class’ front fascia shows that most of the design changes are very similar to the ones shown on the LWB version showcased in Beijing. However, the most noticeable styling updates come at the rear. This can be told safely, as even though the rest of the A-Class sedan prototype wears no camouflages, the rear end of the car has been carefully veiled in tapes and grey paint. This clearly suggests that the German luxury auto major has endowed some good changes on the rear side of the vehicle and thats’s why it is ensuring that the changes don’t get revealed before the time it chooses to reveal them. However, nothing can be said certainly, as it is still based on assumptions and no details have been officially revealed by the company yet. It is hoped that more design details about the rear façade of the new generation A-Class will also soon be revealed, as the sedan continues to shed its veils prior to official market unveiling.
When the under the hood mechanical bits are concerned, the new generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan will be coming powered with a 2.0 litre engine, which has the capability to churn out a max power output of 188 bhp. The car’s performance centric AMG version is also going to come. The German luxury auto giant is likely to launch the AMG version of the car at a later date.
In the car market of China, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class comes packed with a 1.33 litre engine which is good to generate a maximum power output of 134 bhp along with a top torque figure of 160 bhp, depending on the variant. The transmission duty will be handled by a standard 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission gearbox.
