We Will Pick Up 1-2 More Pillars For Comet EV - MG Motor India | V3Cars

While speaking with V3Cars, Gaurav Gupta, chief commercial officer of MG Motor India, said that the “Comet EV will pick up one or two more pillars of the CASE” values for MG vehicles. This is in addition to the ‘Electric’ pillar, which is an obvious one for the Comet EV.

MG Comet EV

MG Motor recently announced a collaboration with online gamer MortaL (Naman Mathur). The statement was in response to a question from V3Cars about the attributes the Comet EV will follow. MG’s vehicles attempt to follow as many attributes as possible out of the brand’s CASE value system. Here CASE is an acronym for:

  • Connected
  • Autonomous
  • Shared
  • Electric

Since the Comet is an electric car, it obviously follows the E pillar. If MG announce 1-2 more pillars for the Comet, then we should expect it to get connected car features and some degree of vehicle shareability. Some of the autonomous driving capabilities currently seem a little out of reach and relevance for the Comet as it’s going to become the most affordable car in MG’s portfolio.

Moreover, being a city-centric vehicle, it will not be able to benefit greatly from the semi-autonomous driving features like adaptive cruise control and lane centring feature. These are valuable features for cars, which frequently drive on the highways and expressways.

Among other cars, here are the pillars they follow*:

  • Astor - CASe
  • Hector/Hector Plus - CASe
  • ZS EV - CaSE
  • Gloster CASe

*Letters of CASE mentioned in upper case are applicable for the particular car mentioned above.
