MG Motor will reveal an all-new, electric hatchback at the 2022 Beijing Motor Show. It could replace the MG 3 EV in global markets. With the expected launch timeline of 2023 for the global markets, MG Motor India have no plans to introduce this model to the Indian market. Instead, MG Motor India are working on a new electric crossover that will sit below the ZS EV.

MG Motor India recently announced that they are working on a new electric crossover for the Indian market. It will sit below the ZS EV in the portfolio and make use of a global EV platform. They also added that it will be tailor-made as per the preferences of the Indian car buyers. It is safe to assume that the electric crossover for India could share its platform with the electric hatchback MG are set to unveil globally.

We expect the electric crossover to rival the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Electric. It is likely to offer a claimed range of 300km or more, similar to its potential rivals. Like every other MG in India, we expect this EV to come loaded with new-age features, including sunroof, telematics, and regenerative braking. MG have suggested an expected price in the range of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh for the upcoming electric crossover.
