MG Hector Black Storm To Launch Tomorrow – 3rd SUV To Get Blackstorm Package After Gloster, Astor | V3Cars

MG Motor India are set to launch the new Hector Blackstorm on April 10, 2024. The Hector is the 3rd MG SUV to receive the Blackstorm package after the Gloster and Astor. The carmaker has released a teaser image of the upcoming SUV, revealing some of the changes it gets over the standard Hector.

MG Hector Blackstorm – What Does It Offer?

MG are yet to confirm the list of changes on the Hector Blackstorm. However, the single teaser image shows the SUV’s various black accents over the chrome elements on the standard Hector. The dual-tone alloy wheels of the standard Hector gets an all-black finish here, while red accents are seen on the headlamp housing, ORVM covers and the brake callipers. Expect the cabin of the MG Hector Blackstorm to feature an all-black treatment as well.

We expect the MG Hector Blackstorm to come in a fully-loaded variant based on the top variant of the standard Hector. So expect features like 6 airbags, hill assist control, a 360-degree surround view system, and more with the 2024 Hector Blackstorm. We expect MG to charge a premium of around Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 for the all-black Hector.

MG Hector Blackstorm Powertrain Options

Like the standard Hector, we expect MG to offer the Hector Blackstorm with 2 engine options – a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine in the MG Hector produces 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque and comes with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque and only comes with a 6-speed manual.

The MG Hector Blackstorm will compete against the Tata Harrier Dark and Safari Dark, among other C2 and D1 SUVs like the Hyundai Creta N Line and Kia Seltos X-Line.
