MG Motor India installed 50 AC fast chargers to celebrate World EV Day. These chargers were installed in more than 25 residential areas and corporate offices across 15 cities in the country.

MG Motor India were one of the first carmakers in India to launch an electric car. MG entered the electric SUV segment in 2020 with the ZS EV soon after the launch of the Hyundai Kona Electric. The ZS EV offered a feature-rich cabin, impressive real-world range and was priced attractively. Earlier this year, the ZS EV received a cosmetic update along with a couple of new features.

Ever since the launch of the ZS EV, MG Motor India have been actively working on developing the country’s charging infrastructure. MG joined hands with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Jio BP and Castrol to set up car chargers at fuel stations with dedicated parking space.

The MG ZS EV packs a 50.3kWh battery pack and offers a driving range of 461km on a single charge, which is 42km more than the earlier claimed range of 419km. Its electric motor produces a class-leading power of 176PS and 280Nm of torque. The ZS EV can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 8.5 seconds. MG are already working on a replacement for the ZS EV, which is likely to go on sale in 2024.
