New-Gen Tata Nexon Spotted With Full-Colour LCD Display | V3Cars

The upcoming new-gen Tata Nexon is undergoing testing across varied terrains in the country before it hits production in the coming weeks. Ahead of its unveil, a new spy shot reveals the Nexon’s new full-colour LCD instrument cluster, which could later make its debut in other Tata offerings.

The new full-colour LCD display seems a lot bigger than that of the outgoing model. While the outgoing model comes with a digital cluster, the new Nexon is likely to offer a full-colour LCD instrument cluster, which could also feature customisable modes. The spy shot reveals a new layout with a blue colour scheme and round digital dials for the tachometer and speedometer.

Furthermore, the new-gen Nexon is likely to offer the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which comes with wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Currently, only the Nexon EV Max offers the new infotainment system but with the updated model, we expect Tata to offer the new infotainment across all top variants of the Nexon.

New-gen Tata Nexon — Powertrain Details

The new New-gen Nexon could mark the debut of Tata’s new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine. The top petrol variants of the Nexon could offer 125PS of power and 225Nm of torque output. Tata are likely to offer this engine with 2 transmission options — a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Furthermore, Tata are likely to retain the current 1.5L turbo diesel engine that produces 110PS of power and 260Nm of torque. The diesel engine is likely to retain the current 6-speed manual and 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

New-gen Tata Nexon — Launch Details And Rivals

Since the Nexon is currently one of the oldest SUVs in the B2-segment space, Tata Motors could launch the new-gen Nexon as early as August this year. We expect Tata to reveal the SUV in July and also commence its bookings the same month. The new Nexon is likely to be Tata’s prime offering for the upcoming festive season. It will rival the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue facelift. Its other segment rivals include the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
