Japanese auto major Honda has launched a new top of the range VX CVT model trim of its popular subcompact sedan Honda Amaze. The new VX CVT trim is available in both petrol and diesel versions.
The Honda Amaze VX CVT petrol has been priced at Rs. 8.56 lakh, while the Amaze VX CVT diesel is tagged at Rs. 9.56 lakhs (prices, ex-showroom across India).
Earlier, the CVT automatic variant was available in S and V variants of the Honda Amaze subcompact sedan, and now it is available in this new top variant VX CVT model trim of the popular car. The introduction of this new top of the range model trim has expanded the all-new Honda Amaze lineup by two more variants. The compact sedan is now available in E, S, V and VX trim with a manual transmission in both petrol and diesel versions. Moreover, the S, V, and the VXtrim models are also available with CVT automatic transmission version in both petrol and diesel versions.
The new Amaze VX CVT variant gets powered by the same 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol mill that has the capability to generate a maximum power output of around 100 bhp along with 110 Nm of top torque. On the other hand, the diesel VX CVT packs in the same 4-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel motor which is able to pump out atop the power output of 120 bhp and with 200 Nm of peak torque.
However, the mechanical update comes in the form of the all-new automatic transmission system – a CVT gearbox that has been paired with both the petrol and diesel versions of the Amaze VX CVT trim. This makes the Amaze VX CVT diesel the first model that Honda Cars India is offering a CVT transmission coupled with a diesel engine.
The newly introduced Honda Amaze VX CVT also comes endowed with a handful of newly added features, which includes an advanced 17.7 cm infotainment system integrated with capacitive touchscreen, Seamless Smartphone Connectivity along with with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, in-built Satellite-Linked Turn by Turn Navigation, IR Remote Control, Steering Mounted Voice control switches, Rear Camera with Guidelines, additional USB-In port, driver’s side window with One Touch Up function with Pinch Guard.
The entire Honda Amaze sedan lineup has been also endowed with the added safety features of Front Passenger Seat Belt Reminder as well as High Speed Alarmas part of its standard package. These added safety feature updates have been by Honda Cars India prior to the implementation of the new Safety Regulations from 1st of July, 2019.
The second generation Honda Amaze also came equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, Impact Sensing Door Unlock, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchorage and a handful of more safety features as part of its standard package since it was launch in May last year.
The Honda Amaze rivals with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and the likes in India.
