Maruti Suzuki are likely to launch the new Brezza with a CNG option. It will then become the first sub-4 metre SUV with a factory-fit CNG. The launch is likely to take place in the near future, somewhere between April and May of 2022.

The Brezza currently gets a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine, which is also available in the Ertiga. This 1.5L engine is a proven unit for CNG fitment as the Ertiga already comes with a CNG option. Also, the specifications of the CNG Brezza could align with the specs of Ertiga CNG as the engine is the same. Based on Ertiga CNG, here are the engine specs of the Brezza CNG:
The spy images revealed that the new Brezza will not have the ‘Vitara’ prefix in its name. Maruti could use this name for their upcoming Creta-rival SUV, which they are working on with Toyota.
The CNG market of India is currently gaining momentum because of the high petrol and diesel prices. Until now, only Maruti and Hyundai were the only ones offering CNG cars. But now, Tata are going to launch the CNG version of the Tiago and the Tigor on January 19, 2022. Maruti too will launch the Celerio CNG this month. To compete with the Brezza, Tata might also introduce the Nexon CNG soon.
Maruti are likely to introduce the CNG with the mid-spec VXI and ZXI variants. After the facelift, the prices of Brezza will certainly rise. Maruti could ask about Rs. 1.0 lakh more over the petrol Brezza for the CNG.
