Skoda has recently teased its new Vision iV electric concept before its imminent official unveiling at the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March. The Czech automaker has posted a colourful sketch of the new Skoda Vision iV, which is a concept e-SUV and shares styling cues with the Vision E.
The new Skoda Vision iV all-electric SUV concept will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, which has been specifically designed for the pure electric cars. From what can be seen in the official sketch of the Vision iV concept, the concept model comes with a sharp, stylish and contemporary design language and comes with proper SUV stance and aggressive visual appeal. The concept has been endowed with full-length LED DRLs strip which runs all across the width of the front fascia of the all-electric SUV concept, connecting the new stylized front grille and the sleek and stylish headlights of the vehicle.
Being a new-age SUV concept from Skoda, the Vision iV also features an aggressively designed rear façade which flaunts a prominent diffuser and a restyled version of the signature C-shaped tail lights. The rear section of the Vision iV also features illuminated Skoda letterings which work along with the brake lights of the vehicle. The sporty looks of the e-SUV has been complimented further with a beefed up rear bumper that comes along with plastic cladding. On the whole, the Skoda Vision iV e-SUV concept gets a highly stylized and contemporary sporty styling language and exudes muscular SUV visual appeal.
Nothing regarding the under hood drivetrain of the new Skoda Vision iV concept electric SUV is yet known. However, the new concept model is expected to get similar drivetrain as that of the Vision E crossover. The Skoda Vision E crossover was unveiled at the 2017 Shanghai motor show, and came powered by two electric motors offering a combined power figure of 297 bhp. The Vision E was showcased with an all-4 wheel drive system. The Vision E was showcased with a claimed driving range of around 500 kilometers on a single charge and is able to reach a top speed of 180 kms per hour. The Skoda Vision iV is expected to be very similar to the Vision E when the power and travel range are concerned, but it is likely to be offered in both two-wheel drive and all-4 wheel drive options.
The actual details about the new Skoda Vision iV concept e-SUV will be revealed by the Czech car maker at the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected that the Vision iV won’t remain as just a concept and it will be coming in its production version soon, or an actual e-SUV will be based on the concept. In either case, Skoda will have a new electric SUV to join its growing new SUV armada.
Meanwhile, the new Skoda Kamiq will also be having its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The new Kamiq that is primarily aimed at the European markets is expected to launch in India as well.
