2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Expected Vs Actual — Price Reaction | V3Cars
In this article, we’ll take a look at the 2023 Tata Harrier facelift’s launch prices and see how close (or off) we were from our expected prices. This will help us better understand 2023 Harrier’s pricing strategy and that of other upcoming cars with similar body style in this price range.

Expected vs Launch Price Comparison
We were expecting the Harrier facelift prices to start from Rs. 16.0 lakh and top out at Rs. 25.0 lakh but Tata tore through our limits in both directions with the Harrier facelift. The 2023 Harrier’s prices start at 15.49 lakh and go as high as 26.44 lakh. We expected the Harrier facelift’s prices to start from Rs. 16.0 lakh and stretch up to Rs. 25.0 lakh. However, the Harrier Smart trim (without the O) ended up costing Rs. 51,000 less than our starting price estimation. At the time of the reveal, Tata hadn’t mentioned anything about the vanilla Smart variant and the Smart (O) looked like the base model. For this trim, though, our estimation was perfectly in line with the launch price. In fact, even the next Pure (O) variant’s expected price was spot on with the actual price.
As we move towards higher variants, we see the deviation seesaw. For the Harrier manual variants, our estimations were good with 6 variants staying within our 5% margin of error, which is acceptable to us, but 4 breached this limit. Meanwhile, 5 variants were a total surprise for us as they were not mentioned at the time of the Harrier reveal.

Price Reaction
We have to apologise for being too hopeful with Tata Motors even after burning our fingers with the Nexon. Watch the following video to find out what all agitated us about the Nexon:
With a base price of Rs. 15.49 lakh, the Harrier is a bit more expensive than before, but it is also much better equipped and doesn’t feel barebones like before. However, moving up the variant lineup, you will notice the value quotient worsen unless you get to the variants with ADAS and panoramic sunroof. These features carry a higher perceived value, which helps them cover the value-price gap. To find out which variant of the Harrier facelift is worth buying without compromising on the ownership experience and value, you can read the following article:
