Next-Gen MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV was the brand’s second offering in India and it received a prominent facelift in March, 2022. MG are now working on the new-gen ZS SUV that is likely to make the shift to an all-electric platform. The new-gen MG ZS EV may sit on the MG4’s electric platform, which is capable of housing twin electric motors.

Currently, the MG ZS EV sits on an ICE platform that’s been modified to house a single electric motor to power the front wheels. A new dedicated platform will allow MG to offer the next-Gen ZS EV with an all-wheel-drive setup, which should give it a major advantage over other EVs in the UK.

On the design front, the new ZS EV will take the design cues from the MG4 hatchback. It’s likely to get a sharper nose flanked by slimmer LED headlights. It will also gain some sharp body creases for an overall chiseled look.

With the global unveil likely to take place in 2023, we can expect the new-gen ZS EV to hit our shores sometime in 2024. It is worth noting that MG plan to go all-electric by the year 2027. However, MG Motor India are yet to reveal their plans for our market. Currently, MG Motor India’s portfolio includes the Hector, Hector Plus, Astor, ZS EV and Gloster. Meanwhile, MG are gearing up to launch the updated Hector SUV in November with several style and functional changes.
