New Tata Nexon Spy Shots Reveal Front End Of Upcoming SUV | V3Cars

Tata Motors are gearing up to launch the next-gen Tata Nexon ahead of the 2023 festive season. The updated Nexon B2-segment SUV was spotted on test yet again, and this time, the spy shots reveal the front end of the SUV sans camouflage. Check out the next generation Tata Nexon here.

Next-Gen Tata Nexon Front End Revealed

The latest spy shots show the new Nexon’s front end with minimal camouflage. As expected, Tata have repositioned the headlamps to the front bumper, just like in the Harrier, Safari and Punch SUVs. At the edge of the bonnet, you’ll find the evolved version of Tata’s Humanity Line in the form of a gloss black trim that spreads across the width of the car. The spy shots show that the test mule has retained the old Tata logo and not the new one that was showcased at the 2023. Auto Expo. The gloss black trim piece is likely hiding LED DRLs beneath it.

The front bumper features two lighting elements for the high and low beam on either side. It remains to be seen if the new Nexon comes with fog lamps as generally, carmakers that have adopted the new styling trend seem to omit fog lamps in their new cars and facelifts.

Earlier spy shots also revealed a protrusion under the ORVM covers, suggesting the new Nexon could gain a 360-degree parking camera. Since there is no radar placed on the bumper, the new-gen Nexon is unlikely to offer advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).

Around the side, the new-gen Nexon offers a new 5-spoke alloy wheel with a star-like design. At the rear, the new Tata Nexon is likely to offer connected LED tail lights and sequential turn indicators.

Earlier images gave us a detailed look at the interior of the Nexon. The updated B2-segment SUV will be the first model from Tata to offer a new 2-spoke steering wheel along with an illuminated Tata logo. The new steering wheel is likely to make its way into the Tata Harrier and Safari faelifts as well. Other details include a new gear selector lever, a full-colour LCD instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system. The lower part of the dashboard gets a soft-touch leatherette finish with faux stitching, similar to what we saw in the Harrier and Safari test mules that were spotted earlier.

New-Gen Tata Nexon — Powertrain Details

Tata Motors showcased their new range of turbo petrol engines at the 2023 Auto Expo. While the brand said that they plan to introduce the new 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the ICE version of the Curvv coupe-SUV, we believe that the new engine will make its debut with the Nexon. Currently, the Nexon comes with a 120PS 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The new engine, on the other hand, is likely to offer 125PS of power and up to 225Nm of torque. It is also likely to come with a dual-clutch automatic alongside the option of a 6-speed manual transmission. We expect the new Nexon to continue with the same 1.5L turbo diesel engine as the current model. The current Nexon diesel is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) and these transmission options are likely to be retained as well.

New-Gen Tata Nexon — Launch Details And Rivals

Since the Nexon is currently one of the oldest SUVs in the B2 segment, Tata Motors could reveal the new model as early as August this year. The new Nexon is likely to be Tata’s offering for the upcoming festive season. It will rival the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue facelift. Its other segment rivals include the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
