Nissan is gearing up to launch its new SUV, the Magnite. While the launch is still a few months away as it is expected to go on sale in early 2021, the SUV was spotted testing recently that too without any camouflage.
The latest spy shot reveals the rear fascia of the SUV in its entirely. It looks largely similar to the concept with sleek split tail lamps flanking the MAGNITE badging. The bumper gets a dual-tone treatment with a faux skid plate that looks sporty and cuts the visual mass of the bumper.
Although all variant and manufacturer badgings are hidden, the variant spied looks like the top-spec variant as it gets dual-tone exterior (Blue body with white roof). A similar colour scheme was also seen on the recently launched Renault Kwid Neotech edition. The car also featured dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, rear washer and wiper and adjustable rear headrest further emphasizing it was the top-spec variant.
The latest spy shots do not reveal anything about the front, side or interior of the SUV but expect it to be similar to the concept like we have seen with the rear. In terms of features, it is expected to get a 360-degree camera, cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlamps and connected car tech. Other expected features on offer include up to 4 airbags, auto AC with rear AC vents, push-button start and electric sunroof.
The Magnite will not only share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber, it will share its engine as well. Like the Triber, it is expected to get a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 72PS and 96Nm mated to a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed MT. The Magnite is also expected to get a turbocharged version of the 1.0-litre engine. It is likely to produce around 100PS paired to a CVT transmission.
Prices of the Nissan Magnite are expected to start around Rs 6 lakh. It will compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport.
