In this September 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment SUVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
C-Segment SUV September 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among the high-volume cars from the category, the Creta was the top-selling and top-gaining car in the month of September. Almost 13,000 units were produced in September 2022 as compared to 8,000 units in September 2021, which is a growth of 57%
- The Volkswagen Taigun was the second best gaining car with a YoY growth of 36%
- A YoY decline of 71% for the Nissan Kicks suggests it could be discontinued in the coming months
- The Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass both saw a decline of around 50% in the September YoY comparison
C-Segment SUV September 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The Kia Seltos saw a 27% increase in dispatch numbers in the September MoM comparison. It was the top-gainer amongst the mass-market cars in the C-segment SUV category
- Besides the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara was the top-selling car at third spot, with over 4,700 units produced in September
- Many among the high volume cars saw an increase in sales numbers
- Amongst the low-volume cars, the Tucson was the top gainer with 95% increase in dispatch number from August 2022 to September of 2022
- The Jeep Compass and MG Astor were the only cars that saw a decline in numbers, with a 34% decline for Compass and a 26% decline for the Astor
