Skoda India recently launched the Kushaq Monte Carlo as an answer to the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus. It packs various sporty bits along with new features to keep it competitive against the aforementioned rivals. Today, we compare the features of the Kushaq Monte Carlo with its German sibling, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus.

The Kushaq Monte Carlo gets gloss black touches in place of the chrome garnishing. The signature chrome grille now gets gloss black borders with matte-finished vertical slats. The headlights get a smoked finish whereas the front skid plate is finished in gloss black.
At the side, the Kushaq Monte Carlo gets black ORVMs, ‘Monte Carlo’ badging on the fenders, black roof rails and 17-inch alloy wheels from the Octavia vRS 245.
At the rear, the Kushaq Monte Carlo gets a dual-tone spoiler, gloss black tailgate garnish and black skid plate.

The Taigun GT Plus, on the other hand, gets a generous amount of chrome all around. Up front, the twin slat grille comes with chrome embellishments whereas the lower bumper gets a chrome wing. Other exterior features of the Taigun GT Plus include LED headlights, LED turn indicators, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ‘GT’ badge on fenders, roof rails and connected LED taillights.
Skoda have added a few cosmetic changes to make the Monte Carlo sportier. On the inside, the Kushaq Monte Carlo gets red and black seat upholstery, gloss red inserts on the centre console and door handles, red stitching on elbow rests and steering wheel, ambient lighting and a red backlit for the infotainment display. Other prominent changes include ‘Monte Carlo’ embossed headrests and scuff plates, aluminium pedals and a new 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster.

These include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster. The changes lie in the dashboard layout, placement of buttons, steering wheel and seat upholstery.
