Czech car maker Skoda has announced its lineup that is planned to be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2018, which will be conducted from 8th - 18th of March, 2018. It has been previously reported that the Czech company is planning to showcase the new range-topping Skoda Kodiaq L&K (Laurin & Klement) and unveil the new Fabia facelift at Geneva Motor Show. However, now we know about Skoda’s entire primary lineup that is going to be showcased at Geneva.
Skoda Auto has announced that the company will be displaying the highly anticipated Skoda Vision X concept and a new 2.0 TSI petrol engine for the Superb and the Octavia vRS model. The company will be also unveiling its new digital instrument panel in the cabin of the Octavia, Superb sedans and the Kodiaq SUV.
The Skoda Vison X concept will be previewing Skoda’s new upcoming SUV model that will join the new SUV model lineup of the company comprising of the Kodiaq and Karoq. The new Vision X concept will also offer a peep at Skoda’s latest design language based on its crystalline styling philosophy. The concept will get a new infotainment system integrated with a big touchscreen display which will also feature a new operating concept for infotainment and connectivity options. The Vision X concept will also come powered by a newly developed hybrid powertrain which combines a CNG powered 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired to an all-electric motor.
Skoda will be making the world premiere of its new updated 2018 Skoda Fabia at Geneva. Both the 5-door hatchback and the wagon versions of the Fabia will receive mild updates with restyled cosmetic elements similar to the Octavia facelift. It will get a 6.5 inch display for its infotainment system along with the Skoda Connect and new SmartLink+ which offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and SmartGate support. The Fabia facelift will also get added techs like Online Traffic Information service and more.
Then there will be the Skoda Kodiaq L&K variant, which is the flagship model in Skoda’s entire portfolio. The special edition comes with an array of premium updates including a chrome grille, full-LED headlights, 19 inch 'Sirius' alloy wheels, plush leather upholstery and more. The Kodiaq L&K gets an advanced AWD system and includes a 1.5L TSI petrol engine apart from the 2.0L petrol engine.
Skoda will also be introducing a new 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol mill for the Skoda Superb and Octavia vRS. In the Superb the new turbo-petrol engine will offer 268bhp and get paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Moreover, Skoda will offer Keyless Entry, Start and Exit System and ambient lighting connected to Driving Mode Select system. The same engine will offer 242bhp on the Skoda Octavia vRS. There will also be an optional Challenge Plus package with interior and exterior features.
As already mentioned, in Skoda’s list of key showcases for 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the introduction of a new digital instrument panel for the Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq is also there. This instrument panel's display can be highly configured. Moreover, all the important information will also be displayed on the display.
