Mahindra Marazzo is all set to be launched on 3rd September and the dealers across the country have already begun accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Though, the manufacturer has been dropping teaser images of the upcoming Marazzo MPV lately but didn’t reveal the vehicle completely. However, the higher-spec M8 variant of the MPV has been recently spotted completely undisguised revealing all the details about the interior and exterior of the upcoming Marazzo.
The images reveal the front of the car sporting large double-barrel headlamps with a shark-inspired grille along with the blacked-out effect, while on the sides it gets subtle character lines, a large glass area and perfectly designed alloy wheels. At the rear the upcoming Mahindra Marazzo will come with the windscreen with a wiper and is flanked by a thick chrome strip. Also, while the chrome highlight connects the the C-shaped LED tail-lamps, all the LED lighting fixtures are expected to be restricted to the higher trims along with the black-painted 17-inch alloy wheels to be available only on the higher variants.
The images also reveal the interior of the Marazzo M8. The MPV will be available in 7-seater and 8-seater layout with other features such as the 4x4 / AWD drivetrain logo on the left of the instrument cluster and uniquely designed roof-mounted air-conditioning unit.
Though the powertrain details of the 2018 Mahindra Marazzo has not been revealed yet, but the MPV is expected to be powered by the new 1.5-litre diesel motor which is speculated to offer 119 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The engine, initially, is expected to get a six-speed manual gearbox and an AMT or automatic transmission can be added at a later stage.;
As a part of the 1,500 crore investment that Mahindra has planned for the Nasik and the Igatpuri plants, the Marazzo MPV will be manufactured in Nasik. Codenamed as the U321 to most for the longest time, Mahindra Marazzo derives its name from a word in the Basque language, which translates to ‘shark’ in English. Marazzo is the first Mahindra passenger vehicle to be co-developed by its Research Valley, in Chennai and its North American Technical Centre, and has been co-designed by Pininfarina and Mahindra’s Kandivali design studio, in Mumbai.
