Iconic British luxury car brand Jaguar has introduced the new refreshed 2019 Jaguar XE luxury sedan, and it comes with more aggressive and sporty visual appeal than its predecessor.
The updated luxury saloon flaunts a new front mesh pattern grille which is flanked by new sleeker headlights along with LED units. The car also gets a redesigned front bumper that houses wider air dams. On the whole, the refreshed front fascia of the Jaguar XE facelift makes it look more attractive and stylish than the outgoing model.
The side profile of the 2019 Jaguar XE facelift remains identical to the outgoing model. Nevertheless, the new XE will be offered with alloy wheel options of up to 20 inches in the car market of UK, but in the Indian car market, it is likely to be offered only with the 18 inch wheels.
The rear façade of the XE facelift has also been refreshed. It gets endowed with new sleeker LED tail lights as well as a restyled rear bumper in order to offer a sportier and fresher visual appeal.
When the cabin of the new updated XE is concerned, the layout remains similar to the pre-facelift model. However, the cabin of the refreshed vehicle now gets endowed with a 12.3 inch all digital instrument cluster and a new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. The infotainment system comes integrated with a 10 inch touchscreen display, while a second screen replaces the physical controls for the air conditioning system and other features, while as mentioned a 12.3 inch display also replaces the older analogue instrument cluster with an all-digital system. The updated model also gets a new gearshift lever replacing the patent rotary drive selector. The new model gets the SportShift gear selector as well as the JaguarDrive Control ‘toggle’ switch. There’s also a sleeker steering wheel with brushed metal finish on its spokes.
The new updated 2019 Jaguar XE comes with standard features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, panoramic sunroof and dual zone climate control. The refreshed XE boasts of the first in segment Clear Sight interior rear-view mirror (IRVM) that gets offers visuals with the help of a camera that’s smartly integrated into the shark fin antenna. The Jaguar XE facelift doesn’t get any under the hood updates, and gets powered by the same petrol and diesel engines as the previous model. It packs in a 2.0L diesel motor that offers 180 PS of peak power and 430 Nm, while the 2.0L petrol mill is offered in two states of tune – 250 PS/365 Nm and 300 PS/ 400 Nm. Both the engines get paired with an 8 speed ZF automatic transmission and come in 2WD and AWD choices.
In the car market of India the new refreshed 2019 Jaguar XE is likely miss out the higher powered and 4WD options and only get lower-spec variants.
While the updated XE has been already launched in the UK market, it is likely to hit the Indian by the end of 2019. In India, the refreshed Jaguar XE will lock its horns with the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the upcoming new Volvo S60.
