With the introduction of new variants, the entry price for Harrier Dark Edition has come down by Rs 1.35 lakh. That said, Tata has also taken this opportunity to increase prices of the recently launched XT+ variant by Rs 20,000 and it now retails at Rs 17.20 lakh. At launch, the Harrier XT+ was priced at Rs 16.99 lakh.
As one would expect, the XT and XT+ Dark Edition share their feature list with the donor variants except for some cosmetic updates. It gets an exclusive black shade on the outside while on the inside it features an all-black interior and the wooden inserts on the dashboard have been replaced by silver colour elements. In terms of features, the XT variant gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17-inch alloys, parking camera, auto headlamps, dual-function DRLs with turn indicators, rain-sensing wipers, auto AC and cruise control. Over the XT, the XT+ variant gets a panoramic sunroof.
Standard features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, traction control, ESP and hill hold control.
Similarly, things remain unchanged under the hood as well. It gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine making 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. While the XZ and XZ+ Dark Editions can be had with a 6-speed AT as well, the XT and XT+ are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only.
Prices of the Tata Harrier ranges from Rs 13.84 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh. It continues to rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and the MG Hector. Tata is also expected to launch the 7-seater version of the Harrier in India soon. While the 7-seater SUV was expected to go on sale by the end of this year, now it seems like it will go on sale by early 2021.
