Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles have introduced TATA.CARS, a new identity for their passenger car business. It brings a new name, tagline and visual style that will appear across Tata’s websites, dealerships, service centres and advertising. However, the cars themselves, the Tata badge and Tata’s existing sales and service setup do not change with it.

Tata unveiled the new brand identity on August 27, 2026. They say it will cover their complete passenger vehicle range, including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and EVs.
Interestingly, the new name comes from something customers already say. Tata say generations of customers have simply referred to their vehicles as a “Tata car”, and the company have now turned that into their new brand identity.
The rebrand also introduces the “Nothing’s Too Far” tagline.
There are a few other changes to how the brand will look and sound:

The familiar Tata ‘ellipse’ logo on the cars stays. Tata have also confirmed that their existing model names and product brands will continue unchanged.
More importantly, Tata have not announced any changes to:
This is where the distinction becomes important.
Tata had already been working on product quality and after-sales service before announcing the rebrand. The company have previously said they were making changes to improve product quality, particularly as their cars became more technology-heavy.
By March 2025, Tata claimed to have added more than 1300 workshop bays, mainly across 21 cities where service capacity needed improvement. They also claimed to have modernised more than 450 workshops and increased technician training and diagnostic support.
Tata say this work helped reduce customer complaints by 18 percent and repeat workshop visits by 25 percent.
The new branding announcement does not add another round of workshop expansion, new dealer standards, extra quality checks or a new complaint-resolution system. Though Tata do say they want to make the experience more consistent from buying a car to getting it serviced.
For now, largely yes.
Tata have changed how their passenger car business looks, sounds and presents itself. Customers will see the new branding online, in dealerships, at service centres and in advertising.
But there is no matching change to the cars, the Tata badge, warranty terms or the way Tata sell and service their vehicles.
That does not mean Tata are ignoring their quality and service concerns. As mentioned above, they had already started making changes in those areas. But those efforts are separate from this rebrand.
There is one other question Tata have not answered. The new identity covers Tata’s EVs as well as their petrol, diesel and CNG cars. However, Tata have not said whether their separate Tata.ev identity will stay.
As of August 31, 2026, Tata are still using Tata.ev on their EV website and across their electric car range.
