Tata Nexon Crosses 5 Lakh Sales Milestone

The Tata Nexon completed 4 lakh sales in September 2022 and in a timeframe of 6 months, the carmaker managed to sell additional 1 lakh units of the Nexon — taking the total count to 5 lakh units. The Nexon achieved the 5 lakh sales milestone in less than 6 years from its launch back in 2017. Tata Nexon was the first sub-compact SUV from Tata Motors, which was later joined by the Tata Punch.

The Nexon nameplate also played an instrumental role in boosting the popularity of electric vehicles in the country. The Nexon EV is the best-selling electric vehicle in India with over 60% market share. Tata Motors also launched the Nexon EV Max with a larger battery pack, capturing a larger audience base who aim to keep their EV as a primary electric vehicle.

New Nexon Facelift Incoming

To continue with the strong surge in the B2 SUV segment, Tata Motors will soon launch the Nexon facelift. It has been spotted on test multiple times, giving a rough idea about its design changes. The Nexon facelift will get a new split headlight design, bringing it closer to the Tata Harrier and Punch SUVs. It will also become a lot more angular than the current model and offer new age design elements like connected LED tail lights and dynamic turn indicators.

On the inside, the Nexon facelift will offer a new dashboard with a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Furthermore, the Nexon facelift is also likely to offer better quality materials on the inside along with a new steering wheel and digital instrument cluster. In terms of powertrain, the Nexon facelift could come with a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, while the 1.5L turbo diesel could be carried over in the current form.
