On the occasion of the first anniversary of the BS6 Tiago NRG, Tata have launched the XT variant of the Tiago NRG. Additionally, Tata have also updated the XT variant of the Tiago hatchback by adding some new features. This move could attract potential buyers of the lower variants to upgrade to the mid-spec XT variant of the Tiago for a better value-for-money quotient.

These feature changes are available with all the powertrain options of the Tiago, such as the petrol-manual XT, petrol-automatic XTA and the CNG-manual XT iCNG. Customers can also opt for the Rhythm pack with the Tiago XT variant, which gets them a bigger 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking camera and 4 tweeters. This pack costs Rs. 30,000. Furthermore, this update also introduces the dark purple colour option in the petrol Tiago lineup.
The Tiago uses a 1.2L 3-cylinder normal petrol engine that produces 86PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic. The XT variant of the Tiago currently costs Rs. 6.0 lakh for the manual and Rs. 6.55 lakh for the automatic variant.

Tata Motors recently hiked the prices of the Tiago range by up to Rs. 5,000. The Tiago’s prices now start from Rs. 5.40 lakh to Rs. 6.92 lakh ex-showroom. It rivals other B1-segment hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
