Toyota India have removed the 11-speaker JBL sound system from the Fortuner 4x4 and Legender SUVs. This move has not affected the prices of both the SUVs and there are no other changes to the equipment list as well.

While the brochures of both the Fortuner and Legender SUVs continue to list the 11-speaker JBL sound system as part of the equipment list, the official website no longer lists it in the features list. A 6 speaker sound system, which comes standard in the lower variants, now replaces the older 11-speaker JBL sound system in the top variants.

We expect Toyota to update the brochures of the Fortuner and Legeder SUVs soon. Interestingly, the deletion of the JBL sound system has no impact on the prices of the Fortuner and Legender. The Fortuner SUV prices start from Rs. 32.59 lakh and go up to Rs. 50.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The Fortuner Legender SUV prices start from Rs. 42.82 lakh and go up to Rs. 46.54 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota offer the Fortuner with 2 engine options — a 2.7L normal petrol engine and a 2.8L turbo diesel engine. While both engines come with a rear-wheel drivetrain as standard, the diesel engine also offers the option of 4-wheel-drive. Toyota are likely to update the Fortuner soon to meet the upcoming BS6 phase-2 emission and road driving emission (RDE) norms.
