Toyota Suspend Rumion CNG Bookings Due To Overwhelming Demand | V3Cars

Toyota have temporarily suspended bookings for the Rumion CNG due to the overwhelming response to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga-based MPV. However, Toyota continue to accept bookings for the petrol variants of the all-new Toyota Rumion. Here’s what Toyota had to say about the latest development.

“We launched the All-New Toyota Rumion in August this year and have received overwhelming response from our customers who have been waiting for a Toyota vehicle in the B-MPV segment. We are heartened to see the increasing inflow of enquiries and healthy bookings for the All New Toyota Rumion. The demand has surpassed our expectations, resulting in a long delivery time across variants, especially for the E-CNG option. This has necessitated us to temporarily halt bookings of the E-CNG option ONLY to avoid customer inconvenience due to longer waiting period. However, we continue to accept bookings for the PETROL (NeoDrive) variants of the All-New Toyota Rumion.”

The Toyota Rumion made its India debut in August and prices for the MPV range from Rs. 10.29 lakh for the base S petrol variant to Rs. 12.18 for the top-spec V petrol variant. The Rumion CNG is only available in one variant – S – and it is priced at Rs. 11.24 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Despite the Rs. 51,000 price difference to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VXI CNG manual variant, the Rumion CNG seems to be a popular choice among those looking for the practicality of an MPV combined with the relatively lower running cost of a CNG vehicle.
