Here’s a list of all upcoming cars that are set to launch in India in 2024 with a starting ex-showroom price of under Rs. 10.0 lakh. While the brands in this list are yet to confirm the launch date of their upcoming cars, we expect the new Tata Punch facelift and Toyota Taisor togo on sale soon. The Kia Sonet facelift, which was revealed recently, is set to become the first under Rs. 10.0 lakh car to go on sale this year. So let’s begin the list with cars that are likely to launch in early 2024.

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift

The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift made its debut on December 14, 2023 and the carmaker opened bookings for the B2- SUV on December 20. The full price list of the new Sonet facelift is expected to be revealed at its official launch event in early January and deliveries are set to begin the same month as well. The Sonet facelift marks the return of the diesel-manual powertrain option and gets new features including a camera-based ADAS and a 360-degree parking camera. Tata Punch Facelift

Punch Facelift

The Tata Punch facelift could debut alongside the Punch EV in late January 2024. It is expected to feature the same design revisions as its electric counterpart. While the Punch small SUV will retain its current petrol and CNG engines, it could gain new features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, illuminated steering wheel, touch-based climate control, and more. Tata could even offer the top variants of the Punch with ADAS for enhanced safety.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

XUV300 Facelift

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is currently undergoing testing and various spy shots suggest it could receive a revised front end inspired by Mahindra’s upcoming range of BE electric SUVs. We expect the Mahindra XUV300 facelift to feature the same powertrain options as the current model. The XUV300 is currently powered by 3 engine options – a 1.2L turbo petrol with multipoint fuel injection, a 1.2L turbo petrol with direct injection and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine.

The 1.2L turbo petrol with multipoint fuel injection puts out 110PS of power and 200Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.2L turbo petrol with direct injection produces 130PS of power and 230Nm of torque and comes with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The 1.5-litre turbo diesel generates 117PS of power and 300Nm of torque. It is offered with the 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift

2024 Swift

The new Swift hatchback was showcased at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show and test mules of the next-generation hatchback were spotted on Indian roads recently. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to debut with a brand new petrol engine. In Japan, the Swift is available with a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with and without a mild-hybrid system. While the Swift’s new mild-hybrid engine produces 85PS of power and 168Nm of torque, the normal petrol engine puts out 82PS and 108Nm, which is 1PS and 13Nm less than the current-gen Swift’s 4-cylinder normal petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki are expected to launch the popular Dzire B2-segment sedan soon after the launch of the new Swift hatchback. Like before, the new Dzire will share its platform, powertrains and features with the Swift and continue to remain the best-selling sedan in India. The new Dzire sedan could gain more safety features than the current model and its top variants could even get ADAS features.

New Toyota Taisor

Toyota are likely to kickstart 2024 with the new Taisor. The Taisor is expected to be a rebadged version of the Maruti Nexa Fronx. So we expect it to feature the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.2-litre normal petrol engine as the popular Nexa SUV. In the Fronx, the turbo petrol engine produces 100PS of power and 148Nm of torque and comes with 2 transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The normal petrol engine produces 90PS and 113Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) option. Citroen C3 CNG

C3 CNG

The Citroen C3 CNG was spotted testing in the country multiple times in the past. The C3 CNG is expected to be powered by a 1.2L naturally aspirated CNG engine. When running on petrol, this engine produces 82PS of power and 115Nm of torque. Expect a slight dip in these figures when powered by CNG. We expect the C3 CNG’s prices to start upwards of Rs. 7.0 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.0 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. When launched, the Citroen C3 CNG will compete with the Tata Punch CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG as well as the base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG.
