Tata Motors recently launched the Tiago EV that boasts more features and a longer range than the Tigor EV. The homegrown carmaker is likely to remedy that with the launch of the updated Tigor EV.

Tata Motors launched the Tigor EV in September 2021 with prices starting from Rs. 11.99 lakh ex-showroom. The current version of the Tigor EV lacks a couple of features, such as cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system and variable regenerative braking, which are available with the Tiago EV. Hence, we expect the updated Tigor EV to get the aforementioned features.
Take a look at the expected new features of the Tigor EV:
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- Cruise control
- Multi-level brake energy regeneration
- Automatic headlamps
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Enhanced telematics
- Leatherette seats

It is worth noting that a couple of these features could also be offered to existing Tigor EV owners with a software update. Like in the case of the Nexon EV, Tata Motors could roll out an update to existing owners of the Tigor EV with features like multi-level regeneration and cruise controls. However, it remains to be seen whether Tata Motors figure out a way to enable these features through the instrument cluster or fit dedicated controls for them.

We also expect the updated Tigor EV to offer enhanced range thanks to the addition of multi-level regenerative braking and new software. Currently, the Tigor EV offers a claimed range of 306km, which is 9km less than the Tiago EV.
