Volkswagen Taigun And Virtus Get A New Blue Paint Option | V3Cars

At the recently held press conference, Volkswagen launched a new blue paint option for the Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan. The new colour is darker than the existing blue paint option of the Taigun and Virtus.

New Lava Blue Colour For Taigun And Virtus

The new blue colour, called Lava Blue, offers a darker shade of blue compared to the existing blue colour. The new blue colour comes in all the variants of the Taigun and Virtus without any extra premium. Apart from the new blue colour, Volkswagen also introduced the GT Limited Collection variants of the Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan. The Limited Collection includes a black colour for both Taigun and Virtus and a matte grey colour option for the Taigun.

Volkswagen Taigun And Virtus GT Powertrain Details

Both the Volkswagen Taigun GT and Virtus GT come with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 150PS of power at 6000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 3500rpm. This engine also offers active cylinder deactivation that shuts off 2 of the 4 cylinders when cruising at a constant speed to aid fuel efficiency. Currently, the Taigun GT offers the option of both 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Virtus GT, on the other hand, only offers the dual-clutch automatic option as of now. However, Volkswagen will soon launch the Virtus GT with a manual transmission as well.

Volkswagen Taigun And Virtus Prices In India

The Volkswagen Taigun prices start from Rs. 11.62 lakh and go up to Rs. 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taigun rivals other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Volkswagen Virtus prices start from Rs. 11.47 lakh and go up to Rs. 18.56 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus rivals other C-segment sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Skoda Slavia.
