Volkswagen Virtus Gets 4,000 Bookings Before Price Announcement — Powertrain-wise Breakdown | V3Cars

Volkswagen India launched the Virtus sedan with introductory prices starting from Rs. 11.21 lakh ex-showroom. At the launch, Volkswagen revealed that Virtus received over 4,000 bookings before the price announcement. The 1.0L TSI accounts for 60% of the bookings.

Volkswagen offer the Virtus with two engine options — 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol. The booking ratio for the 1.0L and 1.5L stands at 60% and 40%, respectively. Volkswagen further offer the 1.0L turbo petrol with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission whereas the 1.5L comes with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic only. The bookings split between the manual and automatic transmission powertrains stands at 45% and 55%, respectively.

Volkswagen also shared some interesting stats regarding their current range. Over 70% of test drive requests now take place online. Additionally, over 15% of the bookings for Virtus came from the online booking portal while the rest came through dealerships. Volkswagen also offer other online services such as interactive online sessions and vehicle service with live video conferencing.
