Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport, GT Line Launched – Full Price List | V3Cars

Volkswagen India have launched 2 new Taigun variants – the GT Line and GT Plus Sport. The latest Taigun GT variants get a blacked-out treatment all around and comes with an all-black interior. Deliveries of the 2024 Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport will commence in April 2024.

2024 Taigun GT Plus Sport, GT Line Launched

Volkswagen India opened bookings for the 2024 Taigun GT Plus Sport and Taigun GT Line in March 2021. The minimum booking amount for the Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line is Rs. 11,000, while the maximum booking amount is capped at Rs. 50,000. Now, the carmaker has revealed the prices of both new variants. Here are the prices of the new Taigun GT Line and GT Plus variants:

The Volkswagen GT Line 1.0-litre petrol-manual is priced at Rs. 14.08 lakh, while the automatic variant equipped with a 6-speed torque converter is priced at a premium of Rs 1.55 lakh, at Rs. 15.63 lakh. 

The Volkswagen GT Plus Sport 1.5-litre petrol manual is priced at Rs. 18.53 lakh and the GT Plus Sport automatic is priced at a premium of Rs. 1.20 lakh, at Rs. 19.73 lakh.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport is offered with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Taigun GT Line, on the other hand, is offered with the smaller 1.0L turbo petrol engine. It gets 2 transmission options as well – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

2024 Taigun GT Plus Sport, GT Line Design Changes

Compared to other Taigun GT variants, the new Taigun GT Plus Sport gets smoked LED tail lamps, red ‘GT’ branding on the grille, fender and tailgate, dark chrome door handles, and red brake calipers. VW have replaced the chrome trim seen in other Taigun GT variants with a glossy black front grille, front diffuser, ORVM covers, and fender badges. The Taigun GT Plus Sport also gets a grey roof and 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels.

The Taigun GT Line gets the same dark treatment as the GT Plus Sport but misses out on the red GT badge on the grille. It instead gets a ‘GT Line’ badge on the doors. It also does not feature the red brake calipers the GT Plus Sport gets.

On the inside, the Taigun GT Plus Sport gets an all-black cabin complete with black leatherette upholstery, black headliner, and glossy black inserts on the dashboard. Red stitching is found on the seats, door pads and steering wheel.

2024 VW Taigun Powertrain Specifications

Like before, the 2024 Taigun lineup is available with 2 engine options – a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic while the 1.5L turbo petrol is offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Volkswagen Taigun rivals the likes of the Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate, among other C-segment SUVs.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport rivals the recently-launched Hyundai Creta N-Line, Kia Seltos X-Line, and Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo.
