JSW MG Motor India, under its community initiative MG Sewa, has handed over a specially retrofitted MG Hector ambulance to Chinmaya Mission Delhi, aimed at strengthening medical preparedness during community programmes. The ambulance was formally handed over at the Chinmaya Centre of World Understanding, Lodhi Road.

The initiative reflects JSW MG Motor India’s approach of extending its manufacturing and mobility expertise into meaningful social responsibility through practical interventions that support safety, accessibility, and timely medical response.

The handover ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Guest, Padma Shri awardee Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani, with Dr. Manju Mani as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Ganesh Mani—eminent cardiologist and Chairman, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket—addressed the gathering on healthy living in an era marked by vaping, digital excess, and lifestyle-driven diseases, highlighting the importance of prevention and readiness in community settings.

Speaking at the event, Padma Shri Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani said,

 

“Heart disease remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide. I often refer to the seven ‘S’ factors to avoid—smoking, stress, sugar, salt, spirits, saturated fats, and a sedentary lifestyle. The golden hour is critical; preparedness and immediate medical response frequently determine outcomes.”

Senior executives from JSW MG Motor India were present at the ceremony, with the lighting of the lamp led by Yeshwinder Patial, who also addressed the gathering.

Commenting on the initiative, Yeshwinder Patial, Chief Human Resource Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said,

 

“The handover of the MG Hector ambulance to Chinmaya Mission reflects our commitment to community welfare. With its robust build, advanced technology, and spacious design, the Hector is well-suited for emergency medical support. Through MG Sewa, we aim to strengthen healthcare access and contribute meaningfully to society.”

On behalf of Chinmaya Mission Delhi, Brahmachari Soham Chaitanya and Shri Jatinder Dhir formally received the keys of the ambulance. Trustees, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and members of the Chinmaya Mission community were present at the event.

Built on the MG Hector platform, the ambulance has been retrofitted into a fully equipped emergency medical response vehicle. It features oxygen delivery systems, patient monitoring equipment, an auto-loader stretcher, and customised medical storage, enabling immediate care along with safe and stable patient transport.

The ambulance will support on-site medical readiness during residential camps and educational programmes organised by Chinmaya Mission Delhi, which caters to diverse age groups—from Shishu Vihar initiatives for children to Vanaprastha programmes for senior citizens—often bringing together large community gatherings.

Chinmaya Mission has a long-standing engagement with healthcare as part of its service ethos. The Chinmaya Mission Hospital, Bengaluru, which began as a modest clinic, has grown into a major healthcare institution serving hundreds of thousands of patients, while continuing to offer free and concessional care. The Chinmaya Institute of Nursing further extends the Mission’s contribution through healthcare education and capacity building.

In addition, Chinmaya Mission Delhi has outlined a series of healthcare initiatives for the year, including an eye camp, a free health check-up programme for women, and dedicated health screenings for children.

Through MG Sewa, JSW MG Motor India continues to align its mobility capabilities with impactful social initiatives.
