Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samagra Shikshana Karnataka (Department of School Education and Literacy), Government of Karnataka, to promote and strengthen vocational education for students studying in Grades 9 to 12.

This strategic collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, empower students with hands-on learning in automobile technology, and develop them into responsible and future-ready citizens. The initiative is designed to address the growing need for skilled manpower while nurturing holistic development among school students.

Under this partnership, the program will be implemented in eight government schools across seven districts of Karnataka, benefitting more than 800 students. The identified schools include Kudur and Kanakapura (Bengaluru South), Peenya (Bengaluru Urban), Bagepalli (Chikkaballapur), Byadagi (Haveri), Harapanahalli (Vijayanagara), Turvihal (Raichur), and Haliyal (Uttara Kannada).

The MoU was signed in the presence of Ms. K. Vidya Kumari, IAS, State Project Director, Samagra Shikshana Karnataka, Mr. MR Maruti, KAS, Director (Quality), SSK and Mr. A. Ramesh Rao, Vice President, External Affairs-Karnataka & Corporate Social Responsibility, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

TKM will also establish automobile skill laboratories in the partner schools to impart practical, industry-relevant knowledge. In addition, students will gain real-world exposure to industrial environments and Toyota’s best practices, fostering discipline, a strong safety mindset and respect for people.
