Tata Curvv EV

Tata Curvv EV

Tata revealed the Curvv EV concept last year. It was a C-segment electric SUV coupe based on a new platform. The new platform is capable of hosting electric as well as petrol and diesel powertrains. At the Auto Expo, we expect Tata Motors to showcase a closer-to-production version of the Curvv EV.

Tata could also reveal other details, such as battery capacity and power figures, at the Auto show. If it goes on sale, the Curvv EV will rival the Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 and the Hyundai Kona EV.

Tata Punch EV

The Tata Punch has been an instant and an immensely successful product for Tata Motors. Hence, Tata would not shy away from giving it an electric avatar as well. The Punch is underpinned by the same platform as the Altroz. Tata Motors showcased the Altroz EV at Auto Expo 2020. This means that the platform is electric ready and so is the Punch.

Looking at the trend of SUVs, it only makes sense to launch the Punch EV before the Altroz EV and pitch it as an entry-level electric SUV. We expect it to get a 28kWh battery pack for a range of a shade over 300km. In terms of pricing, it could cost between Rs. 13.0 lakh and Rs. 15.0 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Avinya

Tata Avinya

Back in 2022, Tata Motors showcased the Avinya concept as an electric MPV. However, Tata Motors are yet to reveal the specifications of the Avinya EV and we expect them to do so at the Auto Expo 2023. The Tata Avinya showcases Tata Motors’ Gen 3 electric vehicle platform. Tata claim that the Avinya MPV’s new drivetrain offers a range of over 500km per charge.

If launched, the Avinya could serve as Tata’s flagship product in the Indian market. We expect the Avinya to boast a twin electric motor setup, which would give the MPV all-wheel-drive capabilities. At this point in time, it is unsure if the Avinya is just a design study or a preview of a future electric vehicle from Tata Motors.

The new electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki is likely to fall in the C-segment and compete with the Hyundai Kona, MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3.

The biggest feature of the Maruti Suzuki electric car concept is likely to be its design. This is one area where Maruti Suzuki have a good grip. For details such as range, battery capacity and efficiency, we will have to wait for the carmaker to reveal them.

The Atto 3 is a C-segment electric SUV but it’s the longest in its segment and the only one with ADAS features. The BYD Atto 3 is also the most powerful car in its segment and it has the biggest battery pack among its rivals, beating them by a fair margin.
