Ensuring that the transport system within the National Capital Territory is efficiently managed, is the key role of the Delhi Regional Transport Office. It is responsible for vehicle registration, issuing licenses, certifying vehicles as fit to operate, and enforcing traffic rules and regulations.

Delhi RTO (Regional Transport Office) is a government agency responsible for the management of transport-related services within the National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. Oversees vehicle registration, driver's licenses, traffic safety regulations and other aspects of transportation administration within the region.

More than 14 RTOs in Delhi carry out all transportation-related activities in the state. Below is the list of RTOs in Delhi with their respective RTO codes.
To register your car or bike for a permanent RC, you have to visit the nearest RTO office with the following documents.
1. Application form CMV 20 (duly filled and signed)
2. Sales certificate in Form 21
3. Roadworthiness certificate in Form 22
4. Vehicle insurance certificate
5. Address proof (Aadhar card, passport, voter ID, etc.)
6. Identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN card, passport, etc.)
7. Proof of vehicle purchase (invoice, sales receipt, etc.)
8. Form 34 (if the vehicle is under a loan)
9. Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate
10. Passport-sized photographs of the vehicle owner
11. Customs clearance certificate (for imported vehicles)
12. Temporary registration number
13. NOC from the previous RTO (for vehicles registered in other states)
These documents are necessary for completing the vehicle registration process at the Delhi RTO office.

A. You will need to visit the local zonal office of the Transport Department to register your private/non-commercial vehicle. Alternatively, the showroom/dealer can get the vehicle registered in your name by following the required procedure.
