
MG Motor have shared images of the facelifted, India-spec ZS EV. It gets many cosmetic changes on the outside, which now resembles the international ZS EV. Spy shots captured earlier revealed the interior of the electric SUV, which is identical to the Astor, its petrol counterpart.

Maruti Nexa have released a teaser for the new 2022 Baleno with the tagline ‘Tech Goes Bold’. The new Baleno will get a segment-first feature in the form of a head-up display. Along with this, Maruti have also opened bookings for the new Baleno. The token amount for booking the 2022 Baleno is Rs. 11,000. You can book the new Baleno via the Maruti Nexa website or visit a Nexa dealership. We expect Maruti to reveal the prices of the new Baleno by February 20.

Mahindra & Mahindra have been testing the Scorpio for well over two years now. We expect Mahindra to unveil the 2022 Scorpio later this year in the Indian market. It will share its engine options with the Thar along with a capable 4-wheel-drive system. Mahindra could also continue offering the current Scorpio after the launch of the 2022 model.

Update: As per our sources, Skoda India have stopped accepting bookings for the 2022 Kodiaq. The new prices will come into effect one the Czech carmaker decides to resume the bookings.
Skoda India has sold out the first batch of the 2022 Kodiaq facelift, barely a month since its launch. The first batch of the Kodiaq consisted of 1,200 units of the flagship SUV and Skoda has quoted a waiting period of up to 4 months for deliveries. Skoda India are selling the Kodiaq via the CBU route and there is no word on when the second batch of cars will arrive on our shores.

MG launched the Astor in October last year and promised to deliver the first 5,000 units by the end of 2021. However, MG was unable to meet this promise due to a global shortage of semiconductors and supply chain issues due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The carmaker has now apologised to customers who are still awaiting delivery of their SUVs. MG have also announced that they have now ramped up production of the Astor to meet the increasing demand.

A leaked teaser image of the 2022 Baleno facelift has surfaced on the internet ahead of the official launch. It gives us a preview of the front fascia of Maruti’s premium hatchback along with the tagline ‘A Big Surprise Coming Soon’. Though not very clear, it reveals some key details of the front. Many Nexa dealers are already accepting unofficial bookings for the new Baleno. As the production has already begun, we expect Maruti to launch the 2022 Baleno this month, that is February.

Volkswagen India will unveil the Virtus in March, ahead of its launch in May 2022. The 2022 Volkswagen Virtus will share its platform and powertrains with the Skoda Slavia. Toyota have announced that it has temporarily stopped accepting bookings for the Hilux. Toyota have cited huge demand along with supply chain issues as the reason behind this decision. The Japanese carmaker had begun accepting orders for the 2022 Hilux on January 20 for an amount of Rs. 1 lakh. The company said they aim to reopen bookings as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Toyota have announced they will reveal the prices of the Hilux in March. Customers who have booked the Hilux can expect deliveries to start the same month as well.

Audi India have launched the Q7 facelift in India today. Audi offer the 2022 Q7 in two variants - Premium Plus at Rs. 79.99 lakh and Technology at Rs. 88.33 lakh (ex-showroom). The Q7 gets a 2-year standard warranty which can be extended up to 7 years. It comes with a sole 3.0L turbo petrol V6 engine with mild-hybrid support.

Kia have commenced the production of their fourth product for India, the Carens. The first unit of the Carens rolled out of Kia’s manufacturing plant in Anantapur on January 31, 2022. They will export the Made-In-India Carens to over 80 countries.

Mahindra have released a new TVC of the new Thar to celebrate its success. The ad also demonstrates the Thar’s high-speed off-road skills and its abilities to create an emotional bond. The commercial has the tagline ‘Explore The Impossible’. Despite being an off-road-centric, lifestyle 3-door SUV, the Thar crossed close to 1 lakh bookings in the first year of its launch. Half of the Thar buyers opted for automatic transmission whereas the petrol variants account for 25% of total bookings.

BYD India have delivered the first batch of the E6 electric MPV. They launched the E6 in November 2021. BYD delivered 30 units to business customers across 6 cities - Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Delhi and Mumbai.

Jeep Meridian, codenamed H6, will make its India debut in mid-2022. Some spy shots of the Jeep Meridian surfaced online once again. Jeep are already selling the Meridian in Brazil, where it’s called the Commander. Jeep India should unveil the Meridian by mid-2022 as per their plans which were shared by the company previously.

Maruti Suzuki India have hiked the prices on all of their CNG cars. Now, the CNG cars from Maruti Suzuki command more premium over the petrol-only equivalents than before. Maruti Suzuki India have increased the prices of the CNG models by Rs. 95,000 across the model range. The carmaker earlier had a flat premium of Rs. 90,000 for all CNG models over their non-CNG counterparts.
