2022 Mahindra Scorpio Likely To Miss Out On ADAS | V3Cars

Mahindra and Mahindra are gearing up to launch the 2022 Scorpio later this year. New spy shots suggest that the 2022 Scorpio will not get autonomous driving assistance system (ADAS) features. Currently, Mahindra offer ADAS features only with the new XUV700.

The latest spy shots reveal multiple features of the 2022 Scorpio which were not on offer with the outgoing Scorpio. The presence of captain seats and other features hints at the possibility of the spied car being the top-spec Scorpio with all the bells and whistles. However, the test car lacks the ADAS radar, which is generally mounted on the lower part of the front bumper.

Mahindra are likely to skip on ADAS features with the Scorpio to keep prices competitive. We expect Mahindra to position the Scorpio below the recently-launched XUV700. The Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs. 13.18 lakh to Rs. 24.58 lakh ex-showroom.

Speaking of the 2022 Scorpio, it will be based on the Gen-2 ladder-on-frame chassis that also underpins the Thar. We do not expect the 2022 Scorpio to have any drastic changes in terms of length, width and height. With all three rows up, the Scorpio is likely to lack boot space. However, we will reserve our judgement till we get to sample the 2022 Scorpio. The new Scorpio will also borrow its powertrain options from the Thar, which will include the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel with both manual and automatic transmission options.
