Jaguar Land Rover is all set to showcase the 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport car in India for the first time on June 28, 2018. The luxury auto maker has already commenced advanced bookings for both the 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Both the 2018 Range Rover models are a part of the ten new launches Jaguar Land Rover has planned for the 2018-19 fiscal year in the country. Though, Land Rover will introduce the cars for the first time in the country but the pricing details of both the vehicles have already been announced by JLR. The 2018 Range Rover Sport is priced at Rs 99.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India), while the flagship Range Rover has been priced at Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom, India) onwards.
Under the hood, the vehicles will come powered by a range of V6 and V8, petrol and diesel engines that empowers both the existing Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport. The diesel models will come powered by an option of a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine that makes about 255 bhp of maximum power and 600 Nm of peak torque and a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 diesel engine that churns out 335 bhp and 740 Nm of peak torque while the petrol models will be offered with an option of a 3.0-litre Supercharged V6 that generates 335 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque as well as the top-spec 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine that churns out almost 518 bhp and 625 Nm of peak torque. However, the transmission duties will be performed by an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard in all the petrol and diesel models.
Based on the latest styling language of the company, the 2018 Range Rover comes inspired by the design theme used in Velar. The bumper at front and rear gets revised look and the taillight has also been revised making the 2018 Range Rover more appealing in terms of its looks. Talking about the features, the upcoming 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport get features like the Pixel-laser LED headlights and a new atlas mesh grille design at the exterior.
Similar to the exterior, the Interior of the upcoming Range Rover also comes inspired by the Range Rover Velar. The cabin gets new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with dual 10-inch touchscreens along with updated front seats with heated armrests, 17 connecting points for charging and multimedia playing purpose, gesture controlled sun blinds and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot able to cater up to 8 devices. Apart from these, new Executive Class rear seating option that is offered with power deployable centre console, heated seats with 'Hot-stone' massage function, gesture-controlled sunblind that opens and closes at the occupant's hand movement, and adaptive cruise control are the other highlights of the upcoming luxurious SUVs.
The entire Range Rover line-up known for its balance between high-end luxury and off-roading capability and in the case of the Sport, competent road-going manners as the automaker is focused to improve these aspects with every update. Both the luxury SUVs will take against the likes of the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5 and Bentley Bentayga.
