The 2020 Tata Harrier range has been announced and bookings for the updated model are now open. The booking amount for the 2020 Harrier range is Rs 30,000. The new model meets BS6 emission norms and will continue to be available with the 2.0-litre diesel engine only.
The 6-speed automatic transmission will be available in three variants on the Harrier: XMA, XZA and XZA+. Tata will offer a 170PS version of the 2.0-litre diesel engine with the automatic transmission. Until now, the 2.0-litre, BS4 diesel engine was available with 140PS of power and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Apart from the new powertrain option, Tata has also added a new XZ+ (XZA+) variant to the Harrier range. It will be the top variant of the Harrier and will come equipped with exclusive features like a panoramic sunroof, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver seat with adjustable lumbar support, auto-dimming inside mirror and 17-inch alloy wheels. Apart from these features, which are available only on the top variant, Tata has also announced that all variants of the Harrier will now come with ESP (electronic stability programme).
As far as cosmetics are concerned, apart from alloy wheels, the 2020 Harrier gets a new red paint option and differently designed outside mirrors. Tata is yet to reveal the prices of the BS6 Harrier. We expect an increase of around Rs 50,000 in the price of existing variants of Harrier.
